With the advent of both more powerful sensors and more accessible viewers such as Google Earth™, traditional Resource Management applications are under strain to deliver ever higher quality imagery data in data formats that require intensive post processing. The Urban Robotics product line is ideally suited to address these increased customer expectations.
Built on technology deployed for the U.S. Military, Urban Robotics’ TerraFlash™ Data Processing Service has been optimized for automated handling of massive amounts of image data but still yield fast post-processing turnaround times. This combination is ideal for environmental, agriculture, and forestry applications that require immediate access to seamless maps of large areas.
For instance, near IR and visible imagery maps of large forests fires covering 100’s of square kilometers can be generated at one meter resolution within a few hours. Firefighters with a simple internet connection can view daily updated maps of a fire’s coverage area via Google Earth™. A further option is to perform real-time processing of imagery in the aircraft via WulfPack™ Computer Clusters and provide “live” data via air-ground data links directly to firefighters on the ground.
On the data collect side, the Urban Robotics PeARL™ Digital Imaging sensor, with its NearIR capability, makes for an ideal mid-priced sensor to handle chlorophyllic and chemical analysis for
environmental and agriculture uses. Additional applications include water quality evaluation and habitat assessment.
